He went on to become an avid opponent of bullfights. Even grievously wounded by picadors, he did not attack this man.
Torrero Munera is quoted as saying of this moment: “And suddenly, I looked at the bull. He had this innocence that all animals have in their eyes, and he looked at me with this pleading. No. Just no. No sense what so ever. What do you do what that extra 3?!
Since my daughter is learning math this way, I can see how it makes sense but because I learned it another way, I can see why it’s confusing too. In her math, they teach the kids to break things down to 10s, just like how you’d add 24+16. In your head, you probably broke it down into 10s without even realizing it by adding 6+4 and then 20+10 (and then 10+10+20 to get 40) but it’s so fast, you don’t realize that’s what you’re doing. They don’t just throw a sheet like this in front of them and expect them to know how to do it. They start slow and build up to something like this.
This isn’t the only way they’re learning how to add either. They’re learning a few different ways to give them a bunch of options to choose from so they can find what works for them.
